  1. Data forensics has become an entire industry. Digital fingerprints are almost as incriminating as REAL fingerprints! Someone I know is actually a forensic data analyst, which is becoming a growing field. He basically has to procure data from various sources for court cases. I think we will continue to hear more about this industry in the future.

  2. I work for an agency in Bucks County that assists victims of crime and I also have a police family background so this blog is really interesting to me. Everyday we work with victims of crime and many times it is the digital evidence that really helps a case. Digital evidence can take a variety of forms so it is important for investigators and detectives to thoroughly search all possible options.

The scary thing about digital evidence is that now it is so easy to change it or make it appear different. It is similar to the video we just watched on the “beauty myth”. Technology makes it easy to alter images, videos, WebPages, emails, voicemails even fingerprints. These alterations and changes could possibly have an innocent person be accused of committing a crime. This would mean innocent people possibly going to jail and guilty people walking around free in our society.
